Boschkloof Wines, Stellenbosch

BoschkloofBoschkloof is situated in one of the best areas of Stellenbosch for red wine making, especially for Syrah and the Epilogue Syrah is a real gem in our range.

Only 28 years old, winemaker Reenen Borman has already made a name for himself with his wines. He is definitely one of South Africa’s brightest young talents.

The 2014 Epilogue is Tim Atkin’s ‘Red Wine of the Year’ and has been awarded 98 points in his new 2016 South Africa report – the highest score he has ever given a South African red wine!

This was Tim Atkin’s review of the wine:

"My Red Wine of the Year is made entirely with the superior SH99 clone, planted in 1996, and was fermented with 20% whole bunches. It sets a new benchmark for Syrah, combining the experience of Jacques Borman with the youthful brilliance of his son, Reenen. A wine that wouldn't be out of place in a range of top Hermitages, it's a stunning achievement: stony, spicy, peppery and very focused, with a granitic texture, polished tannins and a long, velvety finish."
